SUMMARY:Construction Hike for Hope
DESCRIPTION:We are excited to partner with American Foundation of Suicide Prevention (AFSP) to host a Construction Hike for Hope on May 16th at Prickly Pear Park in East Helena. The Construction Hike for Hope is an event meant to engage the construction industry on the importance of mental health and suicide prevention. Construction isn't just physically dangerous it's one of the most dangerous industries for mental health. Suicide is often described as a leading cause of death in the industry\, surpassing many traditional safety risks. About 1\,000 1\,100 construction workers die each year from jobsite incidents (falls\, struck-by\, electrocution\, caught-in/between) vs. Estimated 5\,000 6\,000 construction workers die by suicide annually. Construction workers are 75% more likely to die by suicide than the general population. Construction consistently ranks #1 or #2 for suicide rates among all occupations. We are currently looking for sponsors and participants for the Hike\, please sign up below.
